Below are historic sites that we have worked on dealing with planning authorities and heritage organisations within England, Scotland and Wales.
Working on historic properties across the entire UK we have gained a considerable knowledge in this specialist field. Gaining planning permission for commercial and private clients in a more difficult environment than usual where history, materials, textures and local input have to be considered in much more detail than standard planning applications.
Completed projects include updating sites, taking others forward with modern styles and materials to integrate with the past and ensure their future and reinstating lost gardens and landscapes bringing them back to their former glory.
We have worked on private houses and for commercial enterprises. Some of the more unusual are Stanbrook Abbey near Worcestershire which was a Pugin Monastery originating from the French Revolution where we redesigned the 25 acres of grounds to facilitate access and interest to the conversion of an hotel. Spitbank Fort in the Solent off Portsmouth which was one of the Palmerston follies built to defend Britain from a Napoleonic invasion, but in fact never fired a shot in anger including in the last two world wars, at this site we designed the roof top including bespoke hot tub, fire pit areas and green decking meeting areas. It is now an exclusive use manmade island catering for weddings, parties and other celebrative occasions. Bath Lodge Castle near Bradford on Avon was originally a gate house to Farleigh Hungerford Castle and now is a boutique hotel where we created a woodland walk, reinstated a dried up stream and designed a unique pavilion that overhangs the gorge in the woodland and houses a hot tub, sauna, bar, seating area and can be used for various hospitality functions.
As can be seen from the map there are many others with their own briefs covering all aspects of listed building requirements.
